United's Customer Care Programs take control of the warranty at the end of the original manufacturers warranty. In effect, an extended warranty begins at the expiration of the manufacturer warranty.

Example: A particular washing machine may have a 2 year manufacturer warranty. If you purchase an extended warranty of 1 year, it will give you a total of 3 years. If there are any problems in the first 2 years, you would contact the manufacturer of the washing machine. If any repair is needed after 2 years, but before the 3 year expiry date of the extended warranty, United Electrical's Customer Care Program would complete the repair.

What is Covered:

United's Customer Care Program covers new equipment from all mechanical and electrical defects, unless otherwise excluded. United provides for the labour and replacement parts/products necessary to maintain the product in good operating condition. United provides a set of it's terms and conditions detailing warranty coverage. As a guideline, United's warranty terms are generally the same as the manufacturer's warranty coverage.

To help in avoiding failures which are normally not covered under warranty:

• Make sure the product is serviced, in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations
• Keep the product clean and free of rodents or insects
• Keep the product out of direct sunlight, wherever possible
• Do not drop the product and keep it clear of damage from other objects
• Ensure any software loaded on computers and the like is compatible with the product
• Do not modify the product or fit additional components, after the date of purchase
• Do not use the product with incompatible equipment
• Do not overheat the product or subject it to environmental conditions which will cause early deteriationof the product, such as moisture, dust, vibration, etc.
• Fit a surge protector between the equipment and the mains power outlet.
